Dentro del Programa de Fortalecimiento de la Cadena de Valor Turística Sustentable en el Caribe Mexicano —impulsado por Mayma— hay participantes que destacan no solo por lo que aprenden, sino por cómo se involucran en el proceso.
Cristina Balcázar Escalera, parte de la primera generación, es una de ellas.
Desde noviembre, ha sido una participante constante y comprometida, asistiendo a todas las sesiones virtuales y también a las presenciales, incluso trasladándose desde Cozumel para formar parte de estos espacios.
Un proceso de aprendizaje activo
A lo largo del programa, Cristina ha trabajado en distintos temas clave para el fortalecimiento de su proyecto, como marketing, estrategia de ventas, finanzas y modelo de negocio.
Más allá del contenido, lo que ha marcado la diferencia es su forma de participar: siempre presente, aportando ideas, haciendo preguntas relevantes y compartiendo su experiencia con el grupo.
Aportar también es avanzar
Uno de los valores del programa es el aprendizaje colectivo, y en ese sentido, Cristina ha sido una pieza importante dentro de su generación.
Su retroalimentación ha sido clara, útil y enriquecedora para otros participantes, ayudando a generar conversaciones más profundas y prácticas entre el grupo.
Más allá de las sesiones
Su participación refleja algo clave en este tipo de procesos: el crecimiento no sucede solo por estar inscrito, sino por el nivel de involucramiento que cada persona decide tener.
En ese sentido, Cristina ha aprovechado el programa al máximo, mostrando disciplina, interés y apertura para seguir aprendiendo.

Within the Sustainable Tourism Value Chain Strengthening Program in the Mexican Caribbean — led by Mayma — some participants stand out not only for what they learn, but for how they engage in the process.
Cristina Balcázar Escalera, part of the first cohort, is one of them.
A consistently engaged learner
Since November, she has been a consistent and committed participant, attending all virtual and in-person sessions, even traveling from Cozumel to take part.
An active learning process
Throughout the program, Cristina has worked on key topics to strengthen her project, including marketing, sales strategy, finance, and business modeling.
Beyond the content, what has made a difference is her manner of participation: always present, contributing ideas, asking thoughtful questions, and sharing her experience with the group.
Contributing is also progressing
One of the program’s values is collective learning, and in that respect Cristina has been an important asset to her cohort.
Her feedback has been clear, useful, and enriching for other participants, helping to generate deeper and more practical conversations within the group.
Beyond the sessions
Her participation reflects something essential in these processes: growth doesn’t happen just by being enrolled, but by the level of involvement each person chooses to bring.
In that regard, Cristina has made the most of the program, demonstrating discipline, curiosity, and openness to continued learning.
